I am beginning serious work on my Christmas cards. Tedious and time consuming. Why do I choose to make this project harder than it needs to be? Probably just because I enjoy the process and get caught up in the moment and one idea leads to another. Pictures will follow as I progress.  For now...

Happy Birthday, Curley!

My good friend, Curley has a birthday today. I won't tell you how she is, but she repeating 39 again! Of course, I had to make her a card and since she already has opened it earlier when we went out for lunch (Mexican food, yay!) and then went to our knit and crochet group at the local senior center, I can reveal it now. I used two sets of Thinlet dies from Tim Holtz for the background and butterflies. The background and the orange on the butterflies is from some "watercolor" cardstock from Walmart. The black on the butterflies is a metallic bronze heavy cardstock. I mounted it on a black cardstock then attached the whole thing to a white card base. Happy Birthday, Curley. OpEd Piece: Class Reunions

Disclaimer here: This blog started out as a creative blog, but once in a while, I have to just have a rant about something I hold in and need to let go of. Okay, here's the thing. This year my high school class is having our 55th reunion. I am not going (an am receiving a little "flak" about not attending from certain classmates that either I keep in touch with, or live close and think they need to "needle" me into going.The reasons I have chosen for NOT attending are as follows, and not necessarily in any order: A.  It's too darn expensive. I know that catering and renting a meeting place are expensive these days, but what would be wrong with a park pavillion and having a cook out, everybody bringing something to share? Even the people who are traveling, could bring something from a local grocery deli!! B.  I have nothing in common with any of my former classmates, other than the fact that we all graduated together. A No artwork Post!

Gosh, it's been a while since I posted anything. I have made some awesome cards lately, but got them into the post without taking a pic of them. Drats! I have also been to Grandparent's Day at my grands' elementary school, which was blast in itself. Grandson #2 and grandson #3 both had their designated times at the same time, which created a problem, sorta! So my friend Curley and  I took on grandson #2 and the other grandparent (really an aunt of my daughter-in-laws who raise her when her mom passed.) took grandson #3's room visit. Then we attended a book fair, where each child could purchase a book, if they had the money (way too much). Of course Grandpa had a stash of cash  (furnished ahead of time from my son) and "softie" Curley forked over a tidy sum, so R got a couple of books. it was fun and wonderful visiting in the classroom, seeing projects, meeting the teacher and observing just what 2nd graders are doing and learning these days.
